DAY 01 ARRIVE MUMBAI
Welcome to India or should we say “Welcome to Bollywood After
clearing immigration and custom formalities, a representative from
Ariel Holiday Travels will greet you and assist you to your hotel.
DAY 02 MUMBAI (Breakfast)
Begin your tour in the morning with a visit to the Prince of Wales
Museum, Jahangir Art Gallery, Gandhi House, Victoria Terminus,
Hanging Gardens, and then drive along Marine drive, often called
the "Queen's Necklace". Cruise across the waters of Mumbai, after
boarding your boat at the Gateway of India…door to the east, with
its face to the west, to visit the Eleph anta Caves.
Made
out of solid rock, the Elephanta Caves date back to 600 AD
DAY 03 MUMBAI / BANGALORE (Breakfast)
Fly to Bangalore, once known as the "City of Gardens", now India's
Silicon Valley with a increase in wealth and population. However,
there is plenty of tradition and culture to explore: Art
galleries, Botanical Gardens and the Lal Bagh.
DAY 04 BANGALORE / HASSAN (Breakfast)
Drive to Hassan (180 kms - 4 hours) to explore the magnificent
temples at Belur
and Halebid. The highlight of your visit is the
huge 17 meter high statue of Lord Bahubali and the Jain pilgrimage
centre at Sravanabelagola, considered to be the largest monolithic
statue in the world.
DAY 05 HASSAN / MYSORE (Breakfast)
In the morning continue to Mysore (115 kms - 3 hours), popularly
known as the "Sandalwood City"
DAY 06 MYSORE (Breakfast)
The main attraction of Mysore is the famous Maharaja's palace one
of the most magnificent palaces in India with huge gateways,
domes, arches and sculptures. Also visit the temple at Chamundi
hill, named after the royal family's pattron goddess. On route
stands a 16-foot statue of Nandi Bull, carved out of a single huge
boulder! In the evening, take an excursion to Brindavan Gardens,
exquisitely designed
in terraces and alive with bright flowers
and silvery fountains.
DAY 07 MYSORE / CHENNAI (Breakfast)
Enjoy a luxury train ride to Chennai, a region full of temples and
the capital state of Tamil Nadu.
DAY 08 CHENNAI (Breakfast)
A tour of Chennai takes you to Fort St. George and St. Mary's
Church, the oldest
Anglican Church east of Suez; St. Thome
Cathedral, the Mylapore Temple, and the Marina, the second longest
beach in the world. Not far from Chennai lies Mahabalipuram, "city
of seven pagodas" (out of which five have immersed into the ocean)
and not to forget Kanchipuram famous for its Silk Sarees.
DAY 09
DEPART CHENNAI
It’s time to bid farewell to traditional South India as you are
assisted to the airport for your onward journey.
